Geoff Dyer’s many books include the novel Jeff in Venice, Death in Varanasi; But Beautiful (about jazz); Out of Sheer Rage (about D. H. Lawrence); The Last Days of Roger Federer and, most recently, Homework, a memoir. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature, an Honorary Fellow of Corpus Christi College, Oxford, and a member of the American Academy of Arts & Sciences. His books have won numerous prizes and have been translated into 26 languages. After ten years as Writer in Residence at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, he has recently returned to London.
